The National Service Scheme is a program conducted by the Department of youth affairs and sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969. Aimed at developing student's personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and institutes of Higher education.

Sports and MUSIC
Our Sports Club is designed to serve the interests of IIIT Bhagalpur by providing
opportunities for the students, faculties and staffs to continue
participating or learn some new sport/recreational activities. The members
involvement in the Sports activities is structured to be a learning
experience for the members through their involvement in the organization
and administration of club activities as well as the development of sports
skills. The active participants practices two to four times per week and
all of the departments have Sports Representatives to take care of the
member's requirements and interests.
A friendly Cricket match among the students, faculties and staffs was also
held recently on 26th January 2018. It was a match which created a warm,
friendly, healthy and personal learning environment among the Institute's
faculties students and staffs. These kind of matches are particularly
useful before or after exams, when groups may be getting sluggish, or
during the end of a semesters when energy is waning and motivation is
decreasing. It also helps to clear the way for learning by making the
students more comfortable and encouraging conversation with the faculties
All outdoor sports like cricket, football, badminton etc. and
indoor sports like chess, carom etc. are actively played by the students throughout
the year. We organize and promote all extra-curricular activities in the
field of sports. Participation in the Sports Club is an excellent way to
develop leadership skills, meet new friends with similar interests, stay
in shape and enhance athletic skills.
Even though it is not an Institution exclusively for sports, all sports
facilities are provided here. Activities are student-driven, and new
initiatives are always welcomed.
