Prof. Madhusudan Singh assumed the charge of the Director IIIT, Bhagalpur on June 17, 2025. He is a Professor of Electrical Engineering Department at Delhi Technological University (Formerly Delhi College of Engineering), Delhi. Prior to joining DTU he served as Lecturer at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow from 1996 to1999 and North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) (Under Ministry of Education Govt. of India), Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh from 1992 to 1996. He received his BSc (Engg.) Electrical Engineering degree from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Dayalbagh Agra, Master of Engineering (Control and Instrumentation) from MNNIT Allahabad and Ph.D degree from Faculty of Technology ,University of Delhi. He has about 33 years of professional career in Engineering Institutions of Higher learning out of which more than 17 years as Professor, Electrical Engineering at Delhi Technological University. He held many administrative responsibilities like Head of Department Electrical Engineering (Two consecutive terms 6 yrs.), Dean Academic (Two consecutive terms 7 yrs.), Dean Student Welfare, Controller of Examinations, Chief Warden, Member Boards of Management (BOM) DTU (Two consecutive terms more than 6 yrs), Registrar, DTU (4 yrs) , Members of different statutory/administrative bodies such as Member Board of Studies, Member Academic Council, Chairman Admission Committee B.Tech. DTU, Chief Warden, Procter, Members of various Selection Committees and member in high power committee constituted by GNCT Delhi for framing statutes for DTU. He has a very wide range experiences in academic administration of Government University/Institutions. In addition to above administrative experiences, he has significantly contributed in academics and his research domain i.e. Power Electronics and Motor Drives, Renewable Energy Systems and Electric Vehicles. He has more than 150 publications in reputed peer reviewed International Journals and Conferences. He has supervised 17 PhD research scholars and 10 more are pursuing. He has also supervised 42 M.Tech dissertations. He has authored 05 book chapters in the area of electrical engineering. He has 02 granted patents and 02 filed patents. He has been reviewer of many reputed research journals in the area of Electrical Engineering. He has organized o3 IEEE international conferences and coordinated/conducted more than 18 faculty development program/Gian courses. He has completed/ongoing sponsored research projects and consultancy sanctioned from different government agency such as AICTE, DST and Govt. of NCT Delhi. He has been instrumental in establishing a “Centre of Excellence for Electric Vehicles and Related Technologies” (CoE for EVRT) at Delhi Technological University Delhi. The centre has created state-of-the art research laboratories, testing and training facilities for Electric Vehicles and EV Charging Infrastructure with funding/sanctioned grant of Rs. 9.57 crore from Delhi Knowledge Development Foundation (DKDF), Govt. of NCT of Delhi. He is a senior member of IEEE USA, Fellow (FIE) Kolkata, Fellow, IETE New Delhi and Life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Delhi.
