Director's Message

It gives me immense pride to lead the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhagalpur, an institute of national importance committed to academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and innovation/entrepreneurial activities in the domain of Information Technology and its allied areas. The institute is located on the southern bank of the holy Ganga river in Bhagalpur. The construction of Phase-I of the IIIT campus is completed in 2024 and institute is now fully functional from its permanent campus in Sabour Bhagalpur. The new campus of the institute is equipped with state-of-the art facilities like administrative building, class rooms, laboratories, computer centre, library, hostels, canteen and indoor and outdoor sports infrastructures.
At IIIT Bhagalpur, we strive to nurture innovation, foster critical thinking, and develop the next generation of technocrats and leaders for a rapidly evolving world. The institute admits students in B.Tech programs based on national level joint entrance examination JEE(Mains) through JoSAA/CSAB counselling jointly conducted for IITs, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs. 
IIIT Bhagalpur has revised its curriculum based on the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). The new curriculum emphasizes on multi-displinary and trans-displinary study and includes courses of engineering, sciences, social sciences, humanities, sustainability, artificial intelligence and management. Provisions for exiting at different level of study is included towards multiple entry multiple exist options in all programs.  Students have more options for minors, core specializations/Honours degree and skill-oriented learning. Emphasis is given on industry-relevant skills/certifications through skill-based workshops, project work, semester long internships/industrial training, ensuring that our students are not only academically sound but also equipped with the practical skills needed to excel globally. We are also building a strong research and innovation ecosystem, encouraging faculty and students to engage in meaningful and impactful research and innovations across the disciplines. We have highly motivated and qualified faculty members, who have developed an excellent learning environment in the institute.
IIIT Bhagalpur continues to grow rapidly, both in terms of infrastructure and academic achievements.
