Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur (IIIT Bhagalpur), an Institute of National Importance established under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, offers undergraduate programmes in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Mathematics & Computing (MNC), and Mechanical & Automation Engineering (MAE).
The Institute functions from its dedicated green residential campus situated on the banks of the River Ganga at Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar. Students from across India join IIIT Bhagalpur every year, contributing to a vibrant academic and cultural environment.
Admission Through JoSAA / CSAB / DASA
Admission to the B.Tech programmes of IIIT Bhagalpur is conducted through the counselling processes of JoSAA 2026 (https://josaa.nic.in/), CSAB 2026 (https://csab.nic.in/), and DASA 2026, as applicable. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the respective counselling portals and the Institute website for updates.
Information for IIIT Bhagalpur Allottees
Candidates allotted a seat at IIIT Bhagalpur through JoSAA 2026, CSAB 2026, or DASA 2026 may refer to the following information regarding registration, fee payment, hostel allotment, reporting, and induction program:
Physical Reporting
Dates: 13 August 2026 – 18 August 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 05:00 PM
Venue: Lecture Hall Complex, IIIT Bhagalpur
The presence of parents/guardians during physical reporting is not mandatory. However, they may accompany the candidate if they so desire.
A limited number of guest rooms may be available on a chargeable basis, subject to availability and allotment on a first-come, first-served basis. In view of the large number of candidates expected during the admission period, the Institute may not be in a position to arrange accommodation for parents/guardians.
Several hotels and lodging facilities are available in Bhagalpur city and adjoining areas, approximately 5–7 km from the Institute campus. Candidates and accompanying persons are advised to make accommodation arrangements in advance, if required.
Once the seat is allotted to the candidate issuing a “Provisional Seat Allotment letter” by the competent authority of the JoSAA 2026 and /or CSAB Special Rounds 2026 the candidates are instructed to report the Institute to complete the admission process. Provisional acceptance means that the candidate has accepted the offer, but the final acceptance is contingent on successful verification of certificates by, and on joining, the provisionally allotted institute and payment of the balance Institute fee (₹1,08,621for GEN/OBC/EWS and ₹1,48,621 for SC/ST/PwD) and Hostel charges (₹41,000 (inclusive of advance against mess charges). While hostel accommodation is mandatory for all first-year students, exemptions may be granted under specific circumstances, such as medical grounds or if the student's parents reside in Bhagalpur. In such cases, students may be permitted to join the institute without being allotted a hostel.
Student-Friendly Admission Process
The admission process has been designed to provide a smooth and hassle-free reporting experience. Various admission and onboarding activities are organized in parallel to minimize waiting time. Candidates may obtain hostel room allotment and settle their belongings before completing the remaining admission formalities, while fee submission and reconciliation may be completed at a later stage during the reporting process.
Under normal circumstances, candidates who have completed the prescribed requirements are expected to complete the admission process within approximately 25 minutes.
Dedicated help desks will be available to assist candidates and parents throughout the admission process.
Institute Fee Payment
The Institute fee for the First Semester is ₹1,78,621 for all students, irrespective of category or parental income.
Candidates admitted through JoSAA 2026/CSAB 2026 shall pay only the balance Institute fee after adjustment of the Seat Acceptance Fee already paid to JoSAA/CSAB, as applicable.

Flexible Payment Facility
Multiple payment options including UPI, NEFT/RTGS, Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, and Bank Challan shall be available. Students may pay the prescribed fee through multiple transactions; however, the total fee must be paid in full on or before the notified deadline.
The link for online fee payment shall be made available from 13.08.2026 through the Institute Admission Portal. Candidates are advised to regularly check the portal for updates, payment instructions, and important announcements.
Education Loan Assistance
The Institute is committed to ensuring that financial considerations do not become a barrier for deserving students in pursuing their academic aspirations.
Officials from participating banks will be available during the admission process to guide and facilitate education loan applications. Subject to the respective bank's norms and sanction process, eligible students may avail loans covering Institute fees, hostel charges, books, laptop/computer, and other admissible educational expenses, including the balance Institute fee payable at the time of admission.
The Institute will facilitate the issuance of the necessary documents required for loan processing. IIIT Bhagalpur does not endorse or recommend any particular bank and prospective Students are advised to choose it as per their preference and convenience.
Induction Program
Students will be introduced to various aspects of Institute life during the Induction Program. Information regarding scholarships, academic curriculum, programme-specific opportunities, hostel and campus facilities, academic regulations, student support services, internships, research opportunities, and other important matters will be shared through dedicated sessions.
Hostel and Campus Life

List of documents required at the time of physical reporting:
1. Provisional seat allocation/admission letter.
2. Document verification completion and seat acceptance letter, issued by JoSAA/CSAB 2026.
3. Admit card of JEE (Main) 2026.
4. Score card of JEE (main) 2026.
5. Fee payment receipt (3 copies) of remaining fee paid to IIIT Bhagalpur. 2026-27 Batch (JoSAA-CSAB page-1) (DASA page-2)
6. 10th class marksheet and certificate specifying the date of birth.
7. 12th class marksheet and certificate.
8. Migration Certificate and Transfer Certificate from the school/college/University last attended.
9. Medical Certificate as per JoSSA-2026 format.
10. Aadhaar Card or any other Govt. issued ID card such as PAN Card/ Voter ID Card/Driving License.
11. Three (3) recent passport size photograph of the candidate.
12. Category Certificate as per JoSSA-2026 format for GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD (if applicable).
13. In case, if some documents (document No. 8-12) are unavailable, the student should attach undertaking given as Annexure I on Institute website.
Note: Gap Certificate and Anti Ragging Affidavit are NOT required
UGC has revised the procedure for students to submit the Anti Ragging undertaking. Now the procedure is completely online and students are not required to submit any hard/ printed affidavit in the Institute. This procedure has been changed with the view to conserve paper and hence to protect our environment and to reduce compliance burden of its stakeholders. To complete the anti-ragging undertaking/ affidavit modalities flawlessly, a session would be arranged. Relevant details (time slot and venue) in this regard would be informed during the inaugural session.
Note: If the original certificates are not in English/ Hindi, English / Hindi version/ translation of such certificates, duly certified by the Principal/ Director or other competent authority of the graduating Institute, will be required during the document verification process.
The original copy of the above-mentioned documents along with their two set of self-attested photocopies must be carried during the physical reporting to the Institute.
